RevHeads is a unique programme which combines informal learning activities, practical motor mechanics and accreditation of learning in a ten-week programme for young people aged 14+.
Each week the programme provides a range of engaging activities which help young people develop the skills, knowledge and interest to support their more effective engagement in school and college.
The programme is especially suitable for young people interested in a career in the motor trade.
The course teaches young people about the basics of looking after a car or moped. It aims to:
• develop positive attitudes towards safe driving
• increase knowledge of the costs and legal requirements of owning a motor vehicle
• provide guidance on how to pursue a career in motor mechanics
Young people also develop essential life skills while on the course, including:
• increased self-esteem
• the ability to work as part of a team
• organisational skills
• decision-making ability
• communication skills
Young people also have the chance to practice their driving skills on our off-road buggies, and receive an ASDAN award to recognise achievements.
The RevHeads programme runs 9.30 am - 3 pm on Tuesdays or Wednesday and the 10 week course costs £800 per young person.
